Editorial Policy

How we compile, verify, and correct the specifications and content published on GadgetsPie — and where our automated tools end and human judgment begins.

Where our specifications come from

Every phone listed on GadgetsPie is compiled from publicly available manufacturer information — official specification sheets, press materials released by the brand, and retail listings from authorized sellers. We independently research and write each entry for this site rather than importing or republishing another database wholesale. Individual technical facts (a battery's capacity, a chipset's name, a camera's megapixel count) are, by their nature, public information published by the manufacturer itself; our job is compiling and organizing that information consistently, not claiming to have discovered it.

We do not use automated scraping tools to copy content from other comparison or review sites. If two sites happen to list the same number for a phone's battery capacity, that's because it's the same publicly disclosed fact, not because one copied the other.

How prices are handled

Prices are shown in Pakistani Rupees and reflect the figure on record at the time a page was last updated — visible directly on each phone's page. Pakistan's phone market is unusually sensitive to import duty changes and currency movement, so a price that was accurate last month may have shifted since. We treat every price on this site as a reference point for comparison, not a live quote, and we say so directly to visitors rather than implying more precision than the number actually has.

Automated content: what it is and isn't

The "Overview" section on most phone pages is generated automatically from that phone's actual recorded specifications, rather than hand-written individually for every model. We think it's important to be direct about this rather than let it pass as something it isn't.

Here's specifically what that means: the system computes real comparisons — how a phone's battery capacity compares to the average across our database, how its price sits relative to other phones from the same brand, which nearby-priced alternatives from other brands might be worth a look — and writes them out in plain sentences. It is not the same paragraph repeated with the phone's name swapped in; the actual content changes because the underlying numbers genuinely differ from phone to phone. But it is also not a substitute for a human who has used the phone and can tell you how the camera performs in low light or whether the software feels sluggish after a few months. We don't claim hands-on experience we don't have.

Where you'll find a byline-style note or a phone marked with genuine editorial commentary, a person on our team has written or reviewed that content directly, drawing on hands-on use or detailed research beyond the spec sheet. We're expanding this gradually, prioritizing the phones people compare most often.

Corrections

We get specifications wrong sometimes — a manufacturer revises a variant, a regional model differs from the global one, or we simply make a transcription error. When that happens:

1. Tell us through the contact page, including the phone's name and which specific spec looks incorrect.
2. We check the claim against manufacturer sources.
3. If it's wrong, we fix it — no waiting for a scheduled "content review cycle."

Spec correction reports are, honestly, the most useful message we receive, and we prioritize them over most other site feedback.

No paid placement

No manufacturer, retailer, or brand pays for better positioning in our comparisons, browse listings, or "popular comparisons" sections. Sort order on browse pages is driven entirely by the filter and sort option a visitor selects (price, RAM, release date, etc.) — never by any commercial relationship. If GadgetsPie ever runs sponsored content or a paid placement in the future, it will be clearly and separately labeled as such, distinct from the organic specification data.

Advertising and independence

GadgetsPie may display advertising (see our Privacy Policy for details on how that works and what cookies are involved). Advertising revenue, where it exists, supports keeping the specification database and comparison tool free and open to everyone without a paywall or account requirement. It does not influence which phones are listed, how they're described, or how they compare against each other.

How phones are chosen for the catalog

We prioritize phones that people are actually searching for and comparing — recent flagship and mid-range releases across the brands sold widely in Pakistan, plus older models that still see meaningful search interest or get compared against newer releases. We're not attempting to catalog every phone ever released from day one; the database grows deliberately, with an emphasis on getting each entry right rather than adding as many as possible as fast as possible.

If a phone you're looking for isn't listed yet, that's almost always simply because we haven't added it — not a deliberate exclusion. Request it through the contact page and we'll prioritize based on demand.
